Hello MetaMarket shoppers,
Apologies for not reaching back out sooner — but we are postponing the April 25 market to prioritize something very cool that has been in the works for a little while now!
We're in the process of transforming the MetaMarket into the MetaMall, a shopping mall in the metaverse, open for business 24/7/365.
The next live event we host will be this summer for the MetaMall's "Grand Opening". All attendees who requested tickets for the April market will automatically receive invites to the Grand Opening.
Some fan-favorite brands from past MetaMarkets — including Byte Bars, Leisure Project, Iron Lion, and Seventh & Oak — will be opening virtual storefronts in the MetaMall. Some awesome newer brands will be joining them: CRUSHN, De La Calle, VINA, and NuRange Coffee to name just a few.
If you did not RSVP to the last market, but you are interested in checking out the MetaMall this summer, click here to claim your spot on the guest list.
If you're interested in learning more about the "why" behind the MetaMall, feel free to read on. Otherwise, we look forward to seeing you at the Grand Opening this summer!
Background: As we've hosted the MetaMarket and increasingly connected with new awesome brands & shoppers, the majority of the feedback we've received by both can be boiled down to two key needs. (1) Both groups wish that online shopping could be more fun. (2) Both groups want to more deeply engage with each other. The MetaMall is specifically designed to help brands and shoppers accomplish these two goals very effectively.
The MetaMall will be powered by the same tech as the MetaMarket, but the whole experience will look and feel more like a futuristic shopping mall. Unlike the market, the mall will be open 24/7/365 (even when no live event is going on), and brands will "own" their virtual store — that is, they can do with them what they wish, when they wish.
Just like an IRL retail store, brands can establish "hours of operation" where a rep is available in the virtual store to offer product demos and provide next-level customer support. Outside of operating hours, the stores will feel like immersive self-serve shopping experiences. Brands will do fun things with their stores like host product release parties, sample sales, and so much more. Probably the most compelling reason why one opens a store in a mall is the inherent network effects...that is, you can discover new brands and meet new people.
We look forward to seeing you at the Grand Opening!
